Donate Bikes

BicyclesTrips For Kids® helps fund our programs by operating a bicycle thrift shop the Re-Cyclery, a bike thrift shop where you can find all things bicycle-related, new and vintage, at bargain prices. We are always in need of bikes and bike-related stuff in good condition.

If you have outgrown your old bike or have spares taking up space in your garage, you can give these items a second life by donating them to Trips For Kids. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and can offer you a form you can use to get a tax deduction.

We gladly accept children's teen or adult bikes in good condition (missing parts are okay), and any bike-related items: clothing, helmets, lights, bike racks, tires, tubes, wheels, and rims that are clean & rust-free.

Please note that bikes that fall into the following categories may be charged a $10 fee which is necessary to pay our disposal costs:

  • Adult bikes with steel wheels, low end components and purchased for under $200.
  • Department store bikes; eg Huffy, Magna, JC Penney, Pacific, Next brands.
  • Plastic tricycles, 'Big Wheels' or wheeled bikes made completely out of plastic.
  • Bikes that were stored outdoors and are rusted.

Earning Power

Earning a bike is important to me so my uncle can have a bike, because he doesn’t have one.
