SHARE YOUR MEMORIES OF MARILYN

Our founder, Marilyn Price, has a birthday approaching on Friday, October 4 and we would love for you to help us celebrate this special woman by sharing a memory of Marilyn with us.

We know many of you have fond memories of this remarkable lady as she has touched many lives.

Please take a few moments to either jot down your favorite Marilyn story or create a brief

video message or just wish Marilyn a "Happy Birthday". Email your story, video message and or birthday wishes to Amy at amy@tripsforkids.org by September 26 so Amy has time to assemble and present to Marilyn. Thank you!

Charlotte's new program, Cycle Works.

TRIPS FOR KIDS CHARLOTTE LAUNCHES NEW CLINIC SERIES

Trips for Kids Charlotte is partnering with their local supporter, Advent Coworking, where they will hold a series of clinics and classes surrounding cycling, sustainability and everyday life on two wheels called "Cycleworks."

This months clinic is on bicycle commuting. They will touch on the benefits of cycling to and from work and help attendees identify

accessories and best practices that can help them on their commute. Attendees we will learn, hands on, how to patch a tube. Their first event takes place on Wednesday, September 4th. Advent Coworking is a creative coworking community space which includes a podcast studio, event venue, art studio and gallery.

Sacramento during their first ride.

TRIPS FOR KIDS SACRAMENTO AWARDED GRANT

We are happy to share that Trips for Kids Sacramento was recently awarded an $8,000 grant from their local partner the Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen which is a is a community-

centered bicycle shop serving the residents of Sacramento.

A portion of this money has already been used to procure a 7 X 12 foot trailer last month and they will also use the remaining funds to purchase additional bicycles. After completing a full year in operation, the Trips for Kids Sacramento has determined that an expanded bicycle fleet with larger bicycles will better fit the riders they host and allow them to lead larger groups.

Please help us congratulate Sacramento on their funding award. We are confident they will be getting more 'butts on bikes' in their community soon! Their next ride is scheduled for Saturday, October 19.

Book by author, Jude Isabella.
