Trips for Kids Attends First Outdoor Retailer Summer Market | ORTLIEB and ABUS Join Our Sponsor Family | Chicago Voyagers Use Adventure Therapy to Reach Youth | June Focus On Fathers

We attended the 2019 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market trade show in Denver, Colorado, June 18-20. Trips for Kids has been a fixture at Interbike and the Sea Otter Classic, the largest two annual bicycle trade shows in the US, but this was our first participation in an outdoor recreation trade show. What a fun and productive event!

We were able to check-in with some of our current sponsors (Adventure Medical Kits, Recover Brands and Muc-Off), a previous sponsor (Thule), and made first-time connections with a bunch of outdoor-oriented product companies. Look out for new partnership announcements in the next few months!

We are excited to announce that ABUS Mobile Security and ORTLIEB Waterproof Bags have joined our Trips for Kids family.

ORTLIEB has been a supporter of Trips for Kids throughout the years and we are happy to welcome them back again this year as a new Bronze Level Sponsor! The company recently donated a pallet filled with various styles of their quality waterproof bags.

New to our family is ABUS Mobile Security.  The security lock power house recently reached out to us donating 500 cable locks from their Citadel line because they wanted to help our chapters protect their bike fleets and to assist our youth participants in securing their personal bikes.

"We are really happy to see our sponsor family expand. Our goal is to equip our chapters with as many resources and products as we can to help them provide the best experiences possible for their program participants. Bicycle theft is always a challenge for any cyclists and we are really happy to offer ABUS locks to our chapters. The funds we raise from the sale of the ORTLIEB bags will go into producing valuable educational tools to chapters," shares Andy Phelps, Trips for Kids Support and Sponsorship Manager.

Each of our sponsors plays a crucial role in helping thousands of youth each year. Together, we can reach #everykideverycommunity and change their lives #twowheelsatatime.

We celebrated our chapter moms all month long in May and this month we shifted our focus to our chapter dads! Many of our chapter fathers (and grandfathers) act as role models to their youth. These “gentle”men could not be happier seeing our program participants flourish.

Below are just a few of our chapter fathers (and grandfathers)!

From clockwise beginning in upper left corner is Trips for Kids City of Lakes Chapter Director, Anthony Taylor: Trips for Kids Providence Chapter Director, Tom Bacon; Trips for Kids Bulldog Riders Chapter Director (and NEW dad), Rafael Avendano; Trips for Kids Harrisburg Chapter Director, Scott Shepler; Trips for Kids Tulare County Chapter Director, Brandon Baeza; Trips for Kids High Desert Riders Chapter Director, Raphael Harris; Trips for Kids River Ratz Cycling Chapter Director, Tom Welge; and Trips for Kids Nasson Chapter Director, Peter Chace.

Our partner ESI Grips also participated in celebrating dads in June with their own Father’s Day promotion focusing on Trips for Kids.

They held a five day campaign on their social media platforms encouraging their followers to visit our Facebook page and Instagram account to learn more about our mission.

This resulted in hundreds of their supporters learning more about our organization. We truly appreciated ESI’s support in helping reach a new audience. We have many new social media followers!
