Trips for Kids made its annual pilgrimage to Sea Otter Classic last month in Monterey, California and what an few days it was!

We kicked this year’s event off by exhibiting at a brand new booth location with better foot (and bike) traffic. Mother nature was blowing hard our first day with 60 mph wind gusts, but our tents survived and we welcomed hundreds of happy shoppers who purchased clothing products donated by our incredible sponsors, including GiantPrimal Wear , and Zoic.

The winds calmed down by the second day, and we had the opportunity to talk with our customers and corporate sponsors. Many shared that they LOVE supporting what we do! Visit here to view full story and see festival photos.

We got REALLY busy on Saturday when our youth participants along with their leaders arrived from our Trips for Kids Bulldog Riders, High Desert Riders, Marin and Tulare chapters to attend our 2nd annual Jamboree!

Our hosts from Sea Otter Classic provided all of our youth, chapter directors, chaperones, volunteers and staff with free wristbands AND our very own private campground for the entire weekend! Our kids were able to visit with some of our sponsors including BikeFlights, Giant Bicycles and Zoic receiving tons of free swag to take home. Our youth all felt like event VIP’s!

On Saturday night at the campground the kids pitched their tents and sat around the campfire eating burgers & hotdogs, laughing, dancing and listening to music. Everyone had a great time! The next morning we had some early risers wake to go watch the pro women race and cheer on our local favorite and World Champion Kate Courtney conquer the first climb. After breakfast, the kids packed all their gear up and headed over to Fort Ord National Monument where they went on a mountain bike ride. We were happy to have professional photographer, Joseph Schell attend the ride with us and capture all the smiling faces.

The whole event was a tremendous success with many memories made by all who could attend from our Trips for Kids family. We also raised a record $9,433 from our clothing sales! We could not have done this without the support of our sponsors.  We thank all who made our attendance possible especially our friends at Sea Otter Classic for another amazing year! Until 2020.
