ZEVIA PARTNERS WITH TRIPS FOR KIDS TO TRANSFORM LIVES
Do you remember that exhilarating feeling the first time you pushed on your bike pedals and you started rolling? What about the first time you fixed a flat tire by yourself? That is how excited we are to announce our new partnership with Zevia, a zero calorie beverage company, and their Chief Strategy Officer and EVP of Sales and Marketing, Robert Gay.
Mr. Gay is on a personal coast-to-coast ride journey that will also directly impact some of our chapters. With Zevia's support, Robert is showing people how to "live your best" through his ride with a purpose. He wants to transform others lives through this journey that began on August 6, 2019, in Neah Bay, Washington and will end November 15 in Key West, Florida.
Robert has already rolled through Missoula, Montana and has ridden over 1,000 miles! His next goal is to reach Minneapolis, Minnesota in mid-September, where he will ride with youth participants from our Minnesota chapter, Trips for Kids City of Lakes, during the Minneapolis Bike Tour. With Zevia's help, Trips for Kids City of Lakes, which has been operating since 2001, will be able to replenish some of the bicycles that were stolen last year from their storage trailer. Zevia will also help kickstart a new Trips for Kids River City chapter in St Paul on Friday, September 13, which will bring Trips for Kids programming to even more youth in the region.
The second chapter was a dream for Anthony Taylor, Trips for Kids City of Lakes chapter director. For years Anthony has wanted to help more youth on the underserved east side of the Twin Cities metro area but did not have the resources to make that happen. Zevia's "Live Your Best Ride" campaign and our sponsors Giant Bicycles and Liv Bicycles will help to change all that when he is presented with 20 new Giant and Liv mountain bikes. Along with the bicycles, Trips for Kids will be providing both chapters with support kits that include Kali helmets, Giant water bottles, Adventure Medical Kits and more!
"When we were told about Robert's ride and Zevia's desire to help transform the lives of kids in our area we were overjoyed. We know we are just one of several chapters who will be impacted and can't thank them enough for their generosity," shared Taylor.
Thank you to Robert and to Zevia for allowing us to be part of this special journey. Ride on Robert!
