Welcome Our Three Newest Chapters!
The Trips for Kids network is GROWING! Help us welcome three new communities to our vast network of independent chapters – Trips for Kids-Erie (PA), Trips for Kids-Sacramento (CA) and Trips for Kids-Tulare County (CA).
Trips for Kids-Tulare County serves Visalia and surrounding Central California communities. Its co-directors, Jaime and Brandon Baeza, are developing programs for middle and high school youth and building partnerships with after-school programs and the local Police PAL program.
Bike enthusiasts and co-directors Tricia Hedahl and Elle Steele want to share their love of mountain biking with youth in the area surrounding Trips for Kids-Sacramento. They hope youth from underserved neighborhoods can take part in the chapter’s trail ride programs.
Trips for Kids-Erie is managed by The Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network (SSJN), which serves some of the most impoverished areas across the city. Heather Casper, SSJN executive director, feels that Trips for Kids trail ride programs are the perfect complement to the programs the organization currently offers.
Improving program quality and expanding our network of independent chapters are initiatives from our recently formed Trips for Kids National Team, launched in August 2017. We have an aggressive goal of reaching 150,000 more youth, especially those most in need, by 2023.
